Kefalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands, is renowned for some of the most stunning beaches in Greece. This makes it a perfect escape for families and couples looking to have a break with lots of rest and relaxation. Beaches with the most stunning scenery that Greece has to offer, wonderful tavernas serving traditional Kefalonian cuisine and the warm hospitality that the Kefalonians are proud of - a winning combination that makes Kefalonia one of the top destinations in Greece. |
Lefkas is surrounded by 24 smaller island, including Scorpios, owned by the Onassis family. It is joined to the mainland by a short causeway giving the feeling that it is a lot larger than it actually is. Nidri, the main resort, is bustling day and night. Its harbour has a great selection of bars and tavernas, as well as stunning views. A short drive away is Vassiliki - world famous for its wind surfing and kiting. Beautiful beaches and lush green countryside make Lefkas perfect for further exploration. |
Ithaka is a sleepy, rocky, little island where time, when not standing still, tends to wander about rather aimlessly. Apart from a few tourists and day trippers, little disturbs the gentle, soporific atmosphere. The north has the best resorts and walks, the south has the capital Vathi and one of the world's largest natural harbours. To the west the coastline is rough and rugged while in the east are rolling hills and lush farmland. If you are looking for Greek island tranquillity, look no further. |
